summer nights

Until this summer, Zach would be in bed by 7:30 every night. But, now it's summer and staying light later. He's older. We (David) cooked out last night. He grilled lobster for the first time and it was amazing! He also made salmon and garlic beans.

Zach was playing in the sprinkler thing happily until he remembered that Shonuu lives behind us. He started asking for her and then screaming her name as loud as he could. I was texting Swathi (her mom) to see if they could hear him. They live directly behind us. They could hear him. Ha! Shonuu ran outside and Zach was so excited.

Shonuu has a little brother Zach's age. She also has a cousin Zach's age who lives next door to her and across the alley from us. We all opened our gates and let the kids run around our backyards in the sprinklers, playing with bubbles, sand, and eating Popsicles.

All of a sudden, it was 9:00. It was dark outside. It was the perfect summer night. Zach would have happily played out there with his friends until 3am (I had a dream that was what happened haha). He went to bed at 9:45 and woke up at 6:30 asking for Shonuu. Ha!
